Benjamin School

North Palm Beach, FL

The Benjamin School campus, located in an old-Florida wooded setting, consists of three divisions: Upper, Middle and Lower Schools. A major design concern for the Campus Master Plan was creating a unified campus setting while retaining the individual school identities. The new Lower School plan is designed around a village concept with a central colonnaded courtyard. The focus of this is the “Discovery Center” housing a new Media Center, Environmental Science Room, Computer Lab, and Video Production Lab. The Middle School plan utilizes the existing Upper School buildings and offers superior Science, Language, and Computer Labs. The core of the new Middle School is a newly created landscape area that becomes the focus of the School as well as a backdrop to the west end of the campus green. The Upper School, designed around a clock tower gate, forms the border on the north end of the campus green and features a new Science and Technology Center that offers state-of-the-art Science, Language, and Computer Labs for the Upper School students. Shared facilities are displaced throughout the campus and include a new Upper and Middle School Library and a renovated Fine Arts Center.
