The Town of Jupiter commissioned Song + Associates to develop a design solution that maximizes the Town’s goal of serving the public. To address the Town’s goal, our team created a comprehensive master plan that unified facilities on the existing site, as well as the proposed community center. Throughout the programming process, all departments participated in establishing their individual needs for the next five to ten years. Functional relationships between departments were analyzed to develop a complex rather than individual buildings. Given the Town’s growth rate and its need for a cost-effective solution, Song + Associates incorporated flexibility, functionality and attention to cost in the planning process. Previous master plans created for the
Town suggested that current buildings should be expanded to three to four stories to accommodate growth, an unattractive solution to the Town and the surrounding residents. The Song + Associates’ design solution provides the additional space required to meet ten-year projections by renovating the existing buildings and unifying architecture of the proposed community center, new entrances, and a garden area within the complex, resulting in a two-story design. The design program provides a strong civic appearance to the buildings that is both dignified and integrated into the neighborhood and site.
