The Town of Jupiter commissioned Song + Associates to develop a design solution that maxi­mizes the Town’s goal of serving the public. To address the Town’s goal, our team created a compre­hensive master plan that unified facilities on the existing site, as well as the proposed community center. Throughout the pro­gram­ming process, all depart­ments participated in estab­lishing their individual needs for the next five to ten years. Functional relationships be­tween departments were analyzed to develop a com­plex rather than indivi­dual buildings. Given the Town’s growth rate and its need for a cost-effective solution, Song + Associates incorporated flexibility, functionality and attention to cost in the planning process. Previous master plans created for the

Town suggested that current buildings should be expanded to three to four stories to accommodate growth, an unattractive solution to the Town and the surrounding residents. The Song + Associates’ design solution provides the additional space required to meet ten-year projections by renovating the existing buildings and unifying architecture of the proposed community center, new entrances, and a garden area within the complex, resulting in a two-story design. The design program provides a strong civic appearance to the buildings that is both dignified and integrated into the neighborhood and site.
