Ida S. Baker High School

Designed specifically for the School District of Lee County, this two-story prototype re-use emphasizes the efficiency of the two-story design, in its ability to adapt to new and restricted site conditions. While maintaining safety and security within the five academies, the points of access are rotated to accommodate independent student, staff and bus site entry points. The core capacity of 2,000 students maintains a sense of independence in an otherwise prototypical environment through adjustments to detail. In addition to the extensive community use promoted in the building design, the very limited site extends its amenities to an adjacent park where students and community integrate.
