Seminole Ridge High School

Loxahatchee, FL

The Seminole Ridge Community High School is a two-story prototype re-use of a module that supports ease of circulation and promotes curriculum flexibility. Located on Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, the site was once an orange orchard. Safety and security was emphasized in the design by accommodating distinct student and community access points in addition to utilizing a secure courtyard with single-point monitoring. The academy-based layout brings forth learning, not only for the students but for the community as a whole. The community interaction is further addressed in site amenities including an outdoor stage, athletic fields and open space in the courtyard to promote social events and outside dining.

Seminole Ridge Community High School has the first Biotechnical Academy in the State of Florida as well as a state-of-the-art Distance Learning Center. Other career Academies include Automotive Technology, Business Education, Construction, Cooperative Technology, Diversified Family and Consumer Science, Information Technology and Marketing. The facility is comprised of general classrooms that support the core academics, Automotive

and Retail Business, Construction, Drivers Education, ESE, Foreign Language and Information Technology. The facility also houses laboratories for Art, Computer Education, Music/Band and Science. The athletic facilities consist of a football stadium/track with a 3,000 seating capacity. Play fields include regulation baseball, practice baseball/softball, football, soccer, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts.

We are currently under contract for a stand alone two stop freight elevator tower structure in the courtyard to facilitate the transport of special needs students and staff.
